Shenley Development

This project for Bournville Village Trust was to refurbish and renew the Shenley area of their estate in Birmingham.

The project was wide-ranging, involving various types of work each presenting challenges to the team. Bullock had to design elements of the project, devise innovative solutions to construction and environmental challenges whilst maintaining customer satisfaction and delivering the project on time and on budget.

Enveloping work to existing shops and flats - This included new facades and canopies, landscaping, car parking and hardstandings. The shops and flats remained in use throughout, and so the team had to carry out the work while keeping traders and tenants informed and involved in the process.

Twelve new bungalows - These new homes were constructed to an intricate design, particularly in terms of the roof structure, which was very challenging. The tenants were very pleased with the end quality result, which considerably enhanced their quality of life.
