Oldham Sheltered Housing

The scheme, part of the Governments Round 2 PFI Funding, is the largest sheltered housing project in the UK, and consists of the following;

• Demolition of existing buildings and construction of 3 new sheltered blocks
• Major refurbishment, remodelling and extension of 16 sheltered blocks
• Refurbishment of 854 sheltered bungalows
• 8 of the 19 blocks are built to ‘extra care’ standards
• All residents were moved into temporary accommodation during construction work – Bullock was responsible for organising all of this (the largest temporary moves project ever undertaken in the UK).

The whole project was completed three months early.

Bullock has worked very closely with the operating contractor, Housing 21, and has shared offices – this presented a seamless delivery team to the residents.
