Hotel du Vin - Birmingham

This project comprised a complete refurbishment of all the dining, banqueting and communal areas, along with the refurbishment of all the 66 bedrooms the hotel offers.

Externally the building has been given a subtle facelift, consisting of repairs to the facade which were carried out in sympathy with the building, retaining the existing brickwork and windows.

Internally the former hospital has been transformed beyond all recognition, though existing features such as the sweeping  wrought iron staircase and twin granite pillars in the reception area have been restored and retained.

The Hotel du Vin & Bistro Birmingham is the flagship for the Alternative Hotel Company. Despite a demanding programme the hotel was completed on time and launched by a high profile open day. Due to the success of the scheme, talks are continuing between the whole project team about future work.
