Charles Morris House - Failsworth
Bullock is working in partnership with Oldham Council and Housing 21 on the largest sheltered housing scheme PFI project in the UK.
Charles Morris House was an existing sheltered scheme that has benefitted from an extensive remodelling programme.
The scheme originally consisted of 41, one bedroom flats which were ideally situated in Failsworth. The main aim of the client was to develop an extra care scheme and to provide facilities to make the scheme more desirable to existing and future residents.
The programme of works resulted in the provision of 31, one bedroom flats, a care office, hair salon, a well-being suite, laundry room, guest accommodation, staff room and communal dining room with kitchen. There is also an electrical vehicle store and externally provided a seating area for residents.
The work required for residents to be moved into temporary accommodation. Bullock was been responsible for all the work involved in the moves. As a result we have developed a dedicated temporary moves team that is now experienced in the complexities involved in short term moves, such as dealing with statutory undertakings, re-location of mail, as well as organising packing and moving tenants belongings into storage.
Testimonial
Housing 21 Project Managers Ian Wormwell and Paul Crossland commented that:
“Charles Morris House completed early and to budget, we can honestly say that this is one of the best schemes that Bullock has completed”.
