Bullock and WDH donate a kitchen to Broadroyd House

Bullock in partnership with Wakefield District Council (WDH) held a coffee morning to celebrate the completion of a £2.7m Improvement Programme at Broadroyd Independent Living Scheme in Horbury, where 167 properties were modernised.

In addition to the planned work, Bullock installed a kitchen at Broadroyd House, where tenants meet, to use as a communal kitchen, completely free of charge.  This was to thank the residents at Broadroyd House for their continued support throughout the Improvement works.

Mark St. George, Regional Liaison Manager for Bullock said:

"We are delighted to have had the opportunity to provide a replacement kitchen at Broadroyd House for the residents.  This, plus other events we have held whilst undertaking improvement works on behalf of WDH is our way of saying thank you to the residents who have been very considerate throughout the work."

Numerous staff from both Bullock and WDH attended the handover which took place during the residents coffee morning.  A cheque for £140 was handed over to the residents, raised through a tombola at the scheme's Summer Gala.  The residents will use this for future trips and activities.

Joan Pollitt, WDH Scheme Manager for Broadroyd Independent Living Scheme said:

"Celebrating the completion of the improvements including, kitchen, bathrooms, doors and windows on the Scheme with a lovely communal kitchen area at Broadroyd House, is the icing on the cake for our residents."
