TLO's visit P3 Homeless Hostel
Bullock Construction are working in partnership with Wolverhampton Homes carrying out the Decent Homes programme. This involves the installation of Kitchens, Bathrooms, Doors, Heating and Electrics to the homes in Wolverhampton.
At Christmas we wanted to donate a gift to help the people who were not fortunate enough to have a home during the festive period.
We contacted P3 Homeless Hostel, a 21 bed supported assessment centre in Wolverhampton and asked how we could help and have an impact to improve the lives of those living in the shelter.
After speaking with Jo Sommers hostel manager, we identified the need for a laptop to enable those using the shelter to search for jobs online, job applications, create cv’s, bid for accommodation and resource educational and support groups in the local area. The benefits of the laptop would be invaluable to the shelter and those it supports.
On the 14th December 2009, Lisa, Donna and Jay, Tenant Liaison Officers, visited the hostel to donate a laptop on behalf of Bullock Construction and its contractors.
Jo Sommers commented,
“ Thank you so much for the gift, it will benefit the users of the hostel greatly, it will assist them to move forward into independent living, it will be used for the writing of cv’s and the bidding for properties.
We spoke with Steve who is staying in the hostel, he is looking forward to using the Laptop for cv writing, bidding on properties and it will also enable him to keep in touch with family members in America."
We thanked Jo and her staff for their continued hard work in the hostel and we look forward to seeing them again later this year.
