Moto Scheme - Scunthorpe

Moto Scheme - Scunthorpe

We are currently working on the Westcliffe Estate in Scunthorpe, but recently had to suspend work for a short period due to unsociable behaviour from some of the children on the estate.  To try and remedy the situation, Bullock were approached by North Lincolnshire Homes to see if we would like to contribute to the Moto Scheme for youngsters in that area.

The Moto Scheme was to involve the children from both the Westcliffe and Ridding's Estate to teach them how to ride motorbikes safely and in appropriate places.

The scheme already had donations from various people, including the Police, Ridding's Community Centre and The Acorns and so Bullock happily agreed to donate £500 towards the scheme.

Three dates were arranged for the children and Kim Pratchett, Senior Liaison Officer for Bullock went along to lend a hand.

The instructor gave a talk to the children covering all aspects of Health and Safety and then the children were kitted out in safety gear.  The children were split into two groups to cover beginners and more experienced riders.

Throughout the whole day the children were well behaved and adhered to all the safety rules that were set out at the beginning of the session.  To the delight of everyone, the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph came to the event and spoke with all the sponsors, tutors and children and took a lovely group photo.

A fantastic time was had by all and everyone was desperate to have another go!
