Apprenticeships

At Bullock we offer Apprenticeships at both Level 2 and 3 in a variety of different trades, which include:-

- Bricklaying
- Carpentry
- Plastering
- Painting and Decorating
- Groundwork

We have Apprentices in each of our 4 regions all working towards becoming qualified trades people. Each Apprentice is placed on a site and given a mentor. Through our Apprentice Management programme each Apprentice is supported throughout their programme to ensure that they are receiving good support and also gaining the right amount of experience.

What is an Apprenticeship?
An Apprenticeship is a great opportunity to gain practical experience on site as well as gaining a recognised qualification. Each Apprentice attends college on either day or block release.

An Apprenticeship is made up of the following sections:-

NVQ (National Vocational Qualification)

In order to complete and NVQ each Apprentice is required to complete a portfolio of work based evidence, which will include items such as, photos of work carried out by the individual, witness statements from the people that the individual is working with and observation records from the on site assessor. This is completed throughout the training.

Key Skills (Application of Number and Communication)
These are completed at college where the individual will build up a portfolio of tasks that have been completed to show an understanding of Numeracy and Literacy. A test is required for both in order to complete them.

Diploma
This is completed at college through practical work and theory lessons. It covers a wide variety of areas such as Health and Safety as well as the practical skills needed as part of the relevant trade. There are some practical assessments within the diploma, which will be carried out throughout the training.
